Kampagnenstrategie 2025

How Can We Win?

THIS COURSE WILL BE CONDUCTED IN GERMAN! Different paths can lead to political goals—but we often lose ourselves in a labyrinth of strategic possibilities, different forms of protest and actions, as well as demands and groups we want to reach. In this course, we want to search for ways out together and draw clear political maps—for well-thought-out campaigns with clear goals.

We take a look at the complex ecosystems that make up our movements and the different roles within them. We deal with theories of change, different types of strategic logics and tactical approaches, compare them, and discuss their strengths and weaknesses. And we develop concrete approaches for strategic plans, their implementation, suitable forms of protest, and the possible interplay of several simultaneous or successive campaigns.

In this course, we want to learn with and from each other. This also applies to different backgrounds: It is suitable for people from various types of organizations (e.g., NGOs, trade unions, grassroots groups) and is not limited to specific content topics. At the center is always the big question: How can we achieve concrete victories together?

Modules:

  • Theories of Change & Strategy Types
  • Social Movements as an Ecosystem
  • Deep Dive into Campaign Planning: Goals, Actors, Tactics...
  • Communication as a Core Element of Successful Campaigns
  • Methods & Tools for Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation

This course is for you if ...

  • ... you already have initial theoretical and/or practical experience with campaigns but would like to expand on it.
  • ... you already have a lot of experience with campaigns and want to get to know new approaches.
  • … you like to exchange ideas with other campaigners.

Learning objectives

At the end of this course, we have discussed all the elements and steps of a successful campaign. We can plan, implement, and evaluate campaigns with various types of strategies and goals. Completing this course provides the basis for both compatible NGO campaigns and disruptive protests by grassroots groups.
